Indigitous explores ancient cultures and art forms and reinterprets them using traditional and new media.
Contemporary culture is dominated by digital technology and the internet. Its main concerns are speed, connectivity, communication and the mass produced. This lies in stark contrast to ancient cultures who concentrated on telling stories or decorating their communities with beautiful hand crafted art and objects steeped in cultural traditions.
Indigitous explores these two opposing sets of ideals and imagines a parallel world where ancient cultures did have access to our new technologies and devices and asks what would the art they produce look like? The artist also explores the relationship we have with technology and how this might affect the links we have to our ancestors and their traditions.
